New Information In Hit and Run Death of Rural Hickman Man

LINCOLN -- No arrests yet and deputies are waiting to get a search warrant to look through a truck they found that may have been involved in a fatal hit and run last Thursday night near Wagon Train Lake.   Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says investigators found a 2002 or 2003 GMC pickup in Panama, based on the debris recovered at the scene near 96th and Wagon Train Road.  Wagner says when deputies found the truck, it had damage consistent with the accident last Thursday night.  Nicklas had been out walking his dog at the time, when he was hit near 96th and Wagon Train Road.  He didn't survive.  The truck is registered to 33-year-old James Gibbs of Panama.  No arrests have been made and the investigation continues into who was driving the truck.
