ALLIANCE, Neb. -- While there were tornadoes, heavy rain, hail and strong winds in eastern Nebraska on Mother's Day, to the west, it felt like more December or January. Heavy snow has blanketed much of the Nebraska Panhandle. The National Weather Service says up to a foot of snow fell near Harrison in Sioux County yesterday. Meteorologist Tim Trudel says 4 to 6 inches of snow fell last night near Kimball, and 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected to fall there today.
