Winter is prime time for potholes. Thousands appear each cold season. The Public Works Department wants to hear from you. Crews want to know where they are so they can be fixed quickly. Manager of street and traffic operations, Scott Opfer (UP-fur), says crews fill up between 1,000 to 2,000 potholes a week. If you're tired of running over the same pothole over and over, all you have to do is complain. In fact...it's encouraged. Call the "Pothole Hotline" at 402-441-7646...complaints on the city's website, lincoln.ne.gov or there's a smart phone app called "Lincoln Action Center". Just add the location and hit send. You can also add a picture and crews will come out within a few days to patch it up.
