(6-17-14) People interested in learning all aspects of carp fishing may want to attend Carp-O-Rama on Saturday at Pawnee State Recreation Area in southeast Nebraska.
The free event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the east side of the lake, near the boat ramp. The recreation area sits three miles northwest of Emerald in Lancaster County. Loaner fishing poles will be available.
Seminars by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission fisheries outreach program manager Daryl Bauer will be held throughout the day. The carp caught will be used in demonstrations on cleaning, preparing and cooking the fish. A park entry permit is required of all vehicles entering the recreation area. A fishing license is required of anglers age 16 and older. Both may be purchased on site.
